Awesome! Great to hear this.

Since you are going to "whittle the harness", are you planning to keep the BCM? If you decided you no longer need it, let me know. I would be interested in it!

I'll definitely be paying attention to this. Just finished pulling the wiring harness off the Solstice parts-car since we're moving what's left on the chassis out of the garage, and I'll be starting to whittle the harness down to the needed bits soon enough.

Hi, I'm installing the same drivetrain in a 1955 Sunbeam Alpine. Just curious, what did you do for a fuel pump?

"Nice job so far..." - LOL!

Fuel pump and pressure regulator/filter are from a Vette. The clutch master cylinder is fourth gen Camaro - I just re-used what I had from when we did the first V6 swap.

Hi,
Nice job so far... I'm doing a restoration on a 1955 Sunbeam Alpine, and going w/ the same ecotec drivetrain (swap). Just curious, what did you do for a fuel pump and a clutch master cylinder?

The original Solstice driveshaft was used. The transmission side has a CV joint and we decided to use that. The differential side had to be cut and a matching yoke welded on. So basically my cousin Jim cut the driveshaft, shortened it and used a yoke to fit the diff.

Well the shrink wrap solution will not be permanent. I am sure after some miles the rubber will wear and perhaps start squeaking again. But, this stuff can be cut, the rod can be sanded down a little to remove any residue and painted. Then another small piece of shrink can be placed and the thing is ready to go again. Quick fix.

I would make a suggestion: If I had to do over again, I think I'd used a smaller section of shrink wrap - remember all you need is to cover the area where the rod rests inside the bracket when the bonnet is closed.

Nice fix, the TR4A has a similar prop rod (and issue). I used some felt pads in the bracket and on the fender, but the heat shrink is a much better solution.
